14th ESSKA (European Society of Spots Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy) Congress, Oslo/Norway, 9-12 June, 2010

The members of the Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Center of Ioannina Ristanis S., Ntoulia A., Paschos N., Moraiti C., Patras K., Zampeli F., Xergia S., Vasiliadis H., and Professor Georgoulis AD., will attend the 14th ESSKA (European Society of Spots Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy) congress that will be held at Oslo/Norway, on 9-12 June, 2010.  The scientific team of the OSMCI will participate to the congress by presenting the following scientific studies:

1) "Assymetries in the neuromuscular response of vastus lateralis and biceps femoris muscles during high intensity running in ACLR reconstructed competitive soccer players" - Oral Presentation, Presenting Author: Professor A.D. Georgoulis

2) "Neuromuscular adaptations of the knee flexor mechanism after harvesting the hamstrings for ACL reconstruction, under fatigue conditions" - Oral Presentation, Presenting Author: S.Ristanis

3) "Diagnostic value of quantitative contrast-enhanced MRI in evaluating the revascularization of the anterior cruciate ligament autograft"- Oral Presentation, Presenting Author: A.Ntoulia

This presentation was awarded with the first prize from the Greek Arthroscopic Association and will be presented at the National Awards session of the 14th ESSKA congress were studies that won the first prize in their country will be presented.

4) "Cadaveric study of acoustic emission monitoring during anterior cruciate ligament failure under uniaxial tension" - e-poster, N.Paschos

5) "Reconstruction using either a BPTB or Hamstrings autograft does not restore gait variability two years post-op"- e-poster, C.Moraiti

6) "Correlation between timing of anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction and tibial rotation" - e-poster, F.Zampeli
